Intro

 If you aren't coming from my Youtube channel, you might not know much, or anything, about me, so hi. I figured I would type up a quick little thing about me and what exactly Knives as Bookmarks is about exactly. I am an aspiring author whose is obsessed with reading and true crime. Since they're so many amazing true crime podcasts and I can't really articulate what I want to say, I decided to create a blog discussing two of my favorite things. For the time being, I will be putting up a book related blog on Fridays (reviews every Friday except for the first of the month where I will talk about new releases I'm excited about for the month) and every other Monday I will put up a murder related post, whether it be about serial killers or unsolved crimes, (however January of 2018 will be absent of murder). Also I might connect some of these posts to either of my channels so long as the content can correlate to each other (for example if I play LA Noire on my gaming channel I might connect it to a post on the Black Dahlia Killer, but it won't be mentioned until the end of the post so you guys won't think this is just a way to get y'all to go to my channels). I will say this though; in terms of the reviews, I will only review books that I thoroughly enjoy, so if I give a book a 4 or 5 star rating on goodreads, you can expect a review on here (I'll leave that linked at the end). I don't believe in spending time berating someone's baby just because I didn't like it. If I were to talk negatively about a book it will probably be in a rant type video on my channel. I think that's all I need to say, if you want to know more just leave me a comment down below and I will respond as quickly as I can say.

 Okay, so I figured that everyone that wants to reads this book has already read it, but GUYS, this book was so good! Microphones and Murders Review

    It's time for another ARC review. I did receive this book via Edelweiss, so shout out to them, but this is a cozy mystery centered around two sisters creating a true-crime podcast. There is representation for those that are hard of hearing since there is a character who is now completely deaf (I don't know how well this is done because I do not fit into this demographic and to my knowledge, this isn't own voices for it). But the book is about Liv Olson who used to work as a sound engineer in the #1 podcast series in the country, but now has given up that job to start her own podcast with her younger stepsister, Camry, called Missing or Murdered and the first season is surrounding the disappearance of Amelia Clark, a young woman who went missing after a Youtube video of her went viral that wasn't the most flattering. Murder Monday #7 The Parachute Murder

    Okay, if there was ever a way to end the month of love it's with talking about the Parachute Murder, granted I never heard of it before I started researching for the blog, but oh boy are you guys in for a doozy.    So, everything started on November 18, 2006, when Els Van Doren, Els Clottemans, and Marcel Somers went skydiving together and it ended up with Van Doren's primary and reserve parachute failing to deploy, causing her to fall to her death from the height of over 2 miles. The police established that the cords of the parachute had been cut and Van Doren's video camera captured the dive (I have no idea if the video is out there, but I didn't really want to watch someone plummet to their death.) As the police continued the investigation and learned of a love triangle between the three of them, in which Clottemans was in love with Sommers and Sommers was in love with Van Doren AND Van Doren and Clottemans had a sexual relationship with Sommers.
