A Reaper at the Gates by Sabaa Tahir Genre: YA, Fantasy Release Date: June 12   Okay, so I love this series. If you haven't read, I finally recommend it. I can't talk too much about this book without spoiling the first two but the series revolves around two people: Laia, a young girl who is a Scholar, a group that is oppressed by the Martials, and is forced to become a slave of the Commandant in order to save her brother; and Elias, a Martial student at the Academy who ends up being one of the graduates who are competing to be the new ruler of the Empire. In this book, we got failing empires with a possibly crazy emperor and an underhanded Commandant; as well as a grim reaper type character. I'm tempted to reread the series before this book comes out because I'm dr...

This is Our Story Review

So if you're a fan of Pretty Little Liars, I feel you're gonna enjoy this book. This book is great for when you just wanna snuggle in for a page turner.    This book is surrounded by the death of one Grant Perkins, a teenage prep school boy, who was killed by one of his friends: Logan, Henry, Shep, or John Michael. The problem is that all the boy were at least drunk or high when Grant was shot, no one remembers the details of the night, and every one of the boys had held and shot the gun that killed Grant. Now these four are suspects in a possible murder and are currently in a public high school while their parents, who are pretty damn wealthy, are trying to push the matter under the rug. So in comes Kate Marino, a senior at the public high school who also has an internship with the prosecutor that is in charge of the Grant Perkins case, but Kate has been corresponding with the victim the night before he was killed. Or was she?   What I loved about this book...

When Dimple Met Rishi Review

Image
.  So I'm slightly late on this book, but I'm still reviewing it. It's still fairly new and while it might not be perfect for the snowy weather, if you're in the Southern Hemisphere, this is a great beach read. But you can always put this on your TBR for the summer (and hopefully a sale.)   So, When Dimple Met Rishi is about two Indian teenagers about to start their first steps into adulthood. Dimple is an independent Indian girl who has dreams of going to Stanford for web design and honestly doesn't care whether or not she finds a man. Rishi, on the other hand is a hopeless romantic who wholeheartedly accepts his Indian ideals, including arranged marriage. Most of this book takes place at Insomnia Con, a summer program for aspiring web developers, a program Dimple thought that she wouldn't get the opportunity to go to. However, her parents were more than pleased to pay or her to go to Insomnia Con, but little to Dimple's knowledge, she would be meet...
